Current Grant Recipients

These projects have been selected by our independent Grant Review Panel as those that will have the greatest impact in serving uninsured or underinsured women in our service area. Please note that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is not a direct service provider.  Komen Affiliates award grants only to other non-profit organizations, educational institutions and government entities within our defined service area of Pitkin, Eagle & Garflield counties.

List of Current Community Grant Recipients

Aspen Valley Hospital | Breast Health Program |

Provides a multi-disciplinary effort between AVH, Radiology Imaging Assoc and SGK dedicated to provide breast health services to women with medical needs and financial restrictions in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Aspen Cancer Survivor Center | Aspen, CO |

Aspen Cancer works to optimize the quality of life of cancer survivors. We provide scientifically based fitness programming, nutritional guidance, mental health services and one-on-one coaching, and breast cancer support groups. 

Community Health Services | Aspen, CO |

Community Health Services (CHS) contracts with Pitkin County to provide public health nursing services. The women's health program provides access to preventative services for low income, uninsured, underinsured and at-risk women in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Family Visitor Programs |Glenwood Springs, CO                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Provides clients enrolled in the Nurse Family Partnership and the Home Visitor Program bilingual written and breast health and education materials.

Grand River Hospital District | Breast Health Program, Rifle, CO |

Provides breast screenings, diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and breast biopsies to uninsured or underinsured women.

Mountain Family Health Centers Glenwood Springs, CO |

Provides breast health education, screening mammograms, and surgical consults to the uninsured and underinsured in the Roaring Fork Valley through Valley View Hospital and western Garfield County through Grand River Hospital.

Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains | Glenwood Springs Breast Health Project |

Provides clinical breast exams, mammograms, and ultrasounds for uninsured and underinsured women in the Glenwood Springs area, with a focus on the Latina community.

Vail Valley Medical Center | Eagle Care Breast Health Program, Vail, CO |

Provides screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, breast ultrasounds, surgical consults, biopsies and case management and navigation services for these under and uninsured female patients.
