Local Information

Downtown Aspen

We hope that you and your family and friends will come to Aspen in 2010 to support the Komen Aspen Race for the Cure® and also have an exciting vacation. Whether you are here to run, walk, shop, sleep, volunteer or for moral support, we hope you will take the time to truly enjoy our quaint little mountain town. The family fun that the Aspen/Snowmass area offers is endless with something for everyone in your family. Enjoy whitewater rafting, hiking, mountain biking, golf, back country jeep excursions, horseback riding, Gold Medal fly fishing, hot air ballooning, Saturday Farmer’s Market, local shopping and much more. For more information, visit stayaspensnowmass.com.

Silver Queen Gondola

An amazing and not to be missed adventure is a trip in the Silver Queen Gondola  which travels 2.5 miles and more than 3,000 vertical feet from the heart of Aspen to the 11,212-ft. summit of Aspen Mountain. At the top, bask in the spectacular panoramic views of Aspen and the Elk Mountain Range, dine at the Sundeck, hike, and discover adventure.

Purchase a combination ticket for the two most popular attractions in the Roaring Fork Valley—the Silver Queen Gondola and the Maroon Bells Bus Tour.

Maroon Bells

The Maroon Bells are located just out of town and are among the most photographed mountains in North America. Access to the Maroon Bells is restricted to buses only. The combination ticket provides access to the gondola ride and access to the bus tour (two separate excursions). Purchase your tickets at the Gondola Office at the base of Aspen Mountain. For more information, visit aspensnowmass.com.

Aspen also has a wonderful recreation center known as the ARC, which includes a recreation pool with a slide and lazy river and a 25 yard lap pool with a diving board, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. It is also equipped with an NHL sized ice rink and a 32ft climbing tower. For more information, visit aspenrecreation.com.
