The Aspen Race for the Cure® funds breast health initiatives in our tri-county service area of Pitkin, Garfield and Eagle Counties and provides grants to local non-profits.

The Aspen 2009 Race helped raise approximately $300,000 in grants to our local service area.  A whopping seventy-five percent of funds raised stay in our local community. The remaining twenty-five percent help fund the Susan G. Komen Foundation's innovative and cutting edge National Research program.

The Race attracts men, women and children of all ages and athletic abilities. It is an emotional and exhilarating event that gives women and their families an opportunity to support the fight against breast cancer in our community, to remember those who have lost the battle, and to celebrate those who are surviving. For those not running or walking there is fabulous shopping from 8:00am to 11:00am on the Race grounds in Rio Grande Park. A silent auction, Komen merchandise, and an array of expo partners help to create exciting purchases and give-a-ways with the proceeds going to local breast health funding and national research.

Go the Extra Mile

Help raise additional funds to save lives and end breast cancer forever by inviting family, friends,
neighbors and co-workers to sponsor you or your team in the Race for the Cure®. Every $100 raised helps pay for a mammogram. Create your own donation page at: www.komenaspen.org.

I AM THE CURE™

In addition to raising funds, the Race series is committed to educating the public about early detection, the strongest method of surviving this life-threatening disease. Komen for the Cure® has
developed a compelling educational initiative called I AM THE CURE™, a rallying cry that is emotional, memorable and motivational. It speaks to the importance of early detection, understanding that early detection is the best defense, and provides simple, action-oriented messages that Race participants can take home and put into action.

Cancellation

This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that
event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Aspen Race for the Cure®.
